The War on Fathers

A healthy society is built on healthy families. And healthy families depend on faithful fathers.

This is not simply the empty claim of social conservatives. It is a fixed reality in a world created by the Father, which is why virtually every society has acknowledged the essential role of fathers — until recently.  

The war against fathers is really a war against reality. It is a war against authority, order, discipline, and love. It is therefore a war against the fruit of those things: peace, security, productivity, loyalty, and human flourishing. 

Commies, totalitarians, and authoritarians hate fathers because fathers have a natural, God-given authority. Fathers are a buffer against threats to the family (including the State).

This war has been waging in the media for years (here’s looking at you, Homer Simpson), where fathers are constantly portrayed as either ignorant or abusive. This propaganda is meant to stigmatize good and healthy authority, which a father naturally represents. 

However, our ‘emancipation' from ‘the patriarchy’ hasn’t lead to a flourishing society. Mostly it has lead to blue-haired commie nut-bars, with the ‘red-pilled lost boys' bringing up the rear. At the bottom, these two movements stem from the same sad source: fatherlessness. 

The experiment has been run, and the data is conclusive: rejecting the role of fathers and failing to cultivate healthy fathers has lead to all kinds of negative outcomes, both personally and societally. 

The duty of a father is to serve those under his care, protecting and providing for those of his household. The intended outcome of a father’s faithful love is strong, virtuous, and responsible offspring — you know, all the things tyrants hate. 

So if we want to mount a successful resistance, it begins in the home. It begins with fathers. 

This Father’s Day, we want to honour those men who presently go without honour: the fathers who work hard and come home ready to give their best to those they love. 

Here’s to you, Dads. Keep holding the line.
