One of the best ways to save on shipping is by buying from your local Resistance Outpost.
Resistance Outposts are everyday people, families or businesses who buy our coffee in bulk at a discount and resell it to their local market. You can pick up your order from a local Outpost to save on shipping.

Yes, we offer free shipping on all orders over 24 (340g) bags within Canada and on orders over 12 (340g) bags within Ontario. Our shipping rates are based on rates provided by the courier (e.g. Canada Post, Purolator, DHL, etc.).
We receive roast orders during the week until Friday then roast everything fresh over the weekend. The coffee then rests for 1-2 days and is bagged and shipped, usually by Wednesday or Thursday.
Shipping times can vary depending on your location, but on average, after packages are bagged, orders arrive in 1-2 business days in Ontario and within 3-5 business days for the rest of Canada. Remote areas like the territories or northern regions might take 5-10 days. We're all about efficiency, but holidays or weather can add a day or two— we'll keep you updated with tracking every step.
At this time, we focus on shipping within Canada to keep costs low and freshness high for our fellow Canadians. We're building a stronger home front first, but if international demand grows, we'll stand ready to expand.
For now, join us in fuelling the fight right here.
Orders placed before 12 PM EST on weekdays are roasted over the weekend and shipped out within the next 1-2 business days. We roast fresh to guarantee peak flavour, so your coffee arrives fresh. It's hands-on care from our family to yours, ensuring every bag embodies our values.
We hate delays as much as government red tape, but if your package is running late, check your tracking first. Contact us at info@resistancecoffee.com, and we'll sort it out—whether it's rerouting or a replacement on us. Once it's handed off to the carrier, they're responsible, but we're here to back you up every step.

We ship year-round, but during holidays like Canada Day or Christmas, expect 1-2 extra days due to carrier volumes. Order early to avoid the rush. Your coffee's worth the wait, but we'll do our part to keep things moving smoothly for the season.
Because coffee is considered a food item, we unfortunately cannot accept returns on coffee. However, you can keep the bag and contact us about your issue. We're committed to our customer satisfaction and want to make sure you have the best experience.
For non-coffee products (such as clothing), we accept returns within 30 days and provide a refund of the purchase price. Please contact us and let us know about any issue you're experiencing and we'll do our best to help resolve it!
Specialty coffee is the pinnacle of quality—beans that are grown, harvested, and processed with exceptional care to highlight unique flavours. At Resistance Coffee, it's coffee crafted with resolve, bringing out bright, complex notes that fuel your day without compromise. Unlike everyday brews, specialty coffee is about transparency and taste that reminds you of the hard work behind every cup.
No. There are no added flavours to our coffee roasts. Every delicious tasting note is from the coffee beans and the roasting process.
Yes! There are no nuts in our coffee (unlike Parliament) and it is roasted in a nut-free environment. When we mention various nuts in the tasting notes, it is to describe the tastes from the coffee beans and roasting process, not from any added ingredients.
No. We only sell fresh-roasted premium whole bean coffee.
Sorry, at this time we do not make K-cups. However, you can find reusable K Cups and grind our coffee to use in your Keurig machine.
Yes, we roast 100% Arabica—the gold standard for specialty coffee, grown at higher altitudes for complex, nuanced flavours without the harshness of Robusta. It's what gives our brews that clean, inviting taste, aligning with our commitment to premium quality. No compromises here; just the best for Canadians who demand excellence in every cup.
We source our premium Arabica beans from the world's top coffee-growing regions, including Ethiopia for vibrant fruitiness, Colombia for balanced sweetness, and Central America for nutty depth—places where dedicated farmers thrive in ideal conditions. No shortcuts here; every bean is selected for its potential to deliver the bold character Canadians deserve.
We put a lot of time, personal attention and care into the development of our roasts. Quality takes time, and we don't like to rush. As a result, we only do a few a year. We also are conscious that a lot of our customers become attached to a particular roast that they like, so we want to do our best to ensure that they have consistent access to their favourite Resistance Coffee roast.
We use the EA process to make our decaf roast. The EA (Ethyl Acetate) process and Swiss Water process are two popular ways to remove caffeine while keeping the flavour intact, but they work differently. The EA method uses a natural solvent derived from sugarcane or fruit to gently pull out about 97% of the caffeine from green beans. It soaks them in a safe, evaporating liquid that doesn't leave residues behind. In contrast, the Swiss Water process relies on water, temperature, and osmosis. It soaks beans in water to create a caffeine-free extract that draws out 99.9% of the caffeine from other beans without any solvents. We chose the EA over Swiss Water process because it produces better flavour retention, often resulting in a sweeter, more vibrant taste closer to regular coffee since the solvent targets caffeine more selectively without stripping as many tasty compounds. It's also faster and more efficient, which means fresher batches for you to enjoy.
We offer both to suit your preferences and brewing style. Whether single or blended, everything's specialty-grade, roasted fresh to fuel your day with purpose and pride. Both are roasted to perfection at Resistance; choose single-origin to explore, or blends for reliability—either way, you're getting premium quality that fuels the Canadian spirit.
Absolutely—ethical sourcing is core to who we are. While we don't chase every certification (we focus on real impact over bureaucracy), our beans meet or exceed the Canadian Roasting Society standards.
Our roasting is an art of precision and passion, done in small batches right here in Peterborough using state-of-the-art drum roasters. We start by test-roasting samples to dial in the perfect profile—monitoring time, temperature, and airflow to develop flavours without scorching. From drying the greens to the first crack and beyond, each stage unlocks the bean's true potential, whether it's a light roast's bright acidity or a dark's smoky boldness. Our owner, Alex, oversees every roast personally, ensuring consistency that's as reliable as our principles.
We roast fresh to order, so your beans have peak freshness and maximum flavour, not stale regrets. We take orders throughout the week up until Friday, then the orders are freshly-roasted over the weekend. The coffee beans then rest for 1-2 days, are bagged and shipped.
For orders within Ontario, they usually arrive within 1-2 days of shipping. For the rest of Canada, they usually arrive within 3-5 business days. Rural and remote areas may experience longer shipping times.
Keep your beans in an airtight container in a cool, dark spot—away from heat, light, and moisture—to lock in those bold flavours. Skip the fridge or freezer for short-term; they can introduce humidity. Our resealable valved bags are designed for this, but transfer to a proper canister for longer storage. Simple steps like these ensure your Resistance Coffee stays as vibrant and true as the values it represents.
