True Resistance & Grass Roots

A true, effective resistance must be grass-roots.

It must begin at an individual level, and move out to the family, the neighbour, the local community etc.  

Those who are opposed to human freedom often rely on their power to wield weapons of coercion to accomplish their goals to control others. 

The temptation we face is to fight fire with fire; to fight power with power. To rely entirely on the Courts or the ballot box for change. 

But to do so would be a failure to understand the nature of darkness and how one keeps it at bay. While we should take what opportunity we can to appeal to the Courts, and exercise our responsibility at the ballot box, we can never do so at the expense of the individual duty to love and extend kindness to our families and neighbours. 

Truly, as Tolkien said, it is the small, persistent acts of kindness that will keep the darkness at bay. And some great coffee can help with that too.
